Citation verification

Checks each reference in an uploaded document against the live sources - flags citations that may be fabricated or hard to find.

Every reference, checked

Each reference in an uploaded document is checked against OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, and Crossref, with a web-search fallback for anything not found in those indexes. A citation that can't be matched anywhere is flagged - it may be fabricated, or it may just be obscure, but either way it's worth a second look before the document goes out.
