Terms of Service

Last updated August 28, 2026

These terms govern your use of LittReview, operated by Cohere Solutions. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

The service

LittReview is a citation-mapping and literature-review tool: federated search across academic sources, a citation graph, notes and drafting, document upload and analysis (OCR, transcription, citation verification, AI-text detection), and optional team collaboration. It draws live on third-party academic indexes (OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar, Crossref, and others) — we don't control their availability, coverage, or accuracy, and results can change or go missing if a source changes its data.

Your account

Demo and trial accounts

Demo accounts are time-boxed and may be limited in searches, uploads, or storage. We may expire, reclaim, or delete a demo account and its data at the end of its trial period without further notice.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Your content

You own what you upload and write — notes, uploaded documents, saved maps. By using LittReview you grant us the limited license needed to store, process, and display that content back to you (and to whoever you explicitly share it with) in order to run the service. We don't claim ownership of your content, and we don't use it to train any AI model.

Teams and sharing

If you share a note with another user, file it under a team, or accept a collaboration request, you're granting the people you've included visibility into that content according to the access level you chose (view or edit). Removing someone's access or leaving a team stops future access, but doesn't retract what they've already seen. You're responsible for who you invite.

Bring-your-own integrations

If you connect your own AI model endpoint, OpenAlex/Semantic Scholar API key, Zotero account, or Google Drive, you're responsible for that third-party service's own terms and for any cost or usage it incurs on your behalf. We aren't a party to your agreement with that provider, and we aren't responsible for its availability, accuracy, or handling of data you send it.

Advisory features, not guarantees. Citation verification, AI-generated-text detection, and AI-assisted answers are aids for your own judgment — each is explicitly probabilistic or heuristic, not a determination of fact. Don't rely on any of them as the sole basis for an academic-integrity finding, a publication decision, or any other consequential judgment.

Availability

We aim to keep the service available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, upstream source outages, or unforeseen issues can cause downtime.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cohere Solutions is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on search results, AI-assisted answers, or advisory checks that turn out to be wrong or incomplete.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for a violation of these terms, described above.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
